denim on denim.

American Eagle jacket and flats, Abercrombie & Fitch jeans, American Apparel shirt, Forever 21 belt, vintage sunglasses, handmade earrings

I would like to point out that I'm wearing a jacket here. Yes, it is officially fall, even though the green leaves in the background may try to convince me out of it. They'll be red and yellow soon enough.

To me, this outfit is a transition look. I haven't fully embraced sweaters yet, but I'm not wearing shorts either. I love mixing and matching with denim. Dark or light, shredded or pristine, it all looks good to me. I love the clean cut of this dark jacket paired with some lightly torn jeans. It feels cool and effortless at the same time.

Happy fall!

fall fashion feeling.

H&M sweater, American Eagle skirt, Jessica Simpson heels
Summer is my favorite season, but fall comes in a close second. Today I was eating some pumpkin yogurt (Chobani's Pumpkin Harvest Crisp, to be exact), and it got me in such a fall mood. I am officially done with summer and ready for colorful leaves, pumpkin spice everything, and fall fashion. The styles that come with the changing temperatures are undoubtedly the best of the year. Layering is ideal, and warm, moody colors dominate the landscape. Since burgundy and the golden mustard of my sweater above are two of my all-time favorite colors, I'm a pretty happy gal.

What is your go-to outfit this fall?

in-flight beauty travel essentials.

Moisturizing is key!
Flying, especially when it's for more than a few hours, requires a bit of advance preparation. In terms of beauty, moisturizing is my number one focus whenever I know I'll be traveling for an extended period of time. Here are a few of my standby travel products for any long haul trip.

Origins GinZing Eye Cream: Not only is this cream light and refreshing (and nicely scented), but it is the perfect product for the end of a trip as well. It gives your eye area the moisture it needs. Plus, the slight glimmer helps to refresh your skin and make you look wide awake for the next leg of your journey.

Peter Thomas Roth Vitamin C Brightening Sleeping Mask: When I got a tube of this as a Sephora freebie, I didn't know what to expect. I'm so glad I got it. You can use this product during the day for a quick moisture boost or at bedtime for an extended overnight treatment. I love the way this makes my skin feel when I wake up from a good night's sleep or a quick nap on the plane.

Bath & Body Works Lotion: I love Bath & Body Works lotion. It moisturizes like nothing else. I have so many favorite scents (including Japanese Cherry Blossom). On top of that, it doesn't cost much and it stores well in a purse or backpack compartment.

C.O. Bigelow Lemon and Pomegranate Lip Cream: This was another amazing Bath & Body Works find. Not only does it smell delicious, but it is one of the smoothest, most moisturizing lip creams I've ever tried. Since my lips get dry really quickly, it's important for me to bring a lip balm or cream with me wherever I go. P.S. I dare you to not want to taste it.

Clinique Moisture Surge: Clinique's iconic yellow lotion is my everyday go-to. However, when I need extra moisture, such as on a long plane ride in a dry compartment, I go for Moisture Surge. The formula feels so light and refreshing, but it moisturizes like nothing else. I love how it revitalizes my skin and leaves it feeling energized.

ipsy - august/prep school.

I can't believe how many full size products I received this month!
I was very (pleasantly) surprised when I opened my Ipsy pink mailer this month. How did I get all these amazing products for only $10?! Here's my review:

Ipsy bag: I think I like the theme more than I like the bag itself. Prep school is such a good idea, and the houndstooth pattern goes with it well. I'm not a huge fan of the plastic finish, but it's not a big deal. It still looks cute with the pink zipper.

AILA Nail Polish in Mister Pookies: First of all, how chic is this bottle? I would love to put this on display with my makeup collection.. As for the color, I was in love when I saw it in person. It is a cross between gray and soft purple. It looks incredibly polished (pun intended). I will definitely be wearing this on repeat come autumn.

Marc Anthony Nourishing Argan Oil: I am obsessed with hair oils, so this is right up my alley. My hair is definitely in the dry category. I love that just a few drops add a ton of moisture and shine. Plus, I can apply it to damp or dry hair, so I'm good to go anytime.

Hikari Lip Gloss in Merlot: Ok, so a few months ago I got the Hikari lipstick in Cabaret. I absolutely love that lipstick and I think that this lip gloss pairs with it perfectly! The colors complement each other very well. Of course, I will definitely wear this on its own for a flush of color, since the pigmentation is pretty strong.

Starlooks Pro Luxe Longwear Eyeliner Pen: This couldn't have come at a better time. I am almost done with my beloved e.l.f. liquid liner bottle and want to try something new. I'm all about the easy application, since winged and cat eye liner are some of my go-to looks. I'm sure you'll see me sporting this baby in outfit posts to come.

Eco-Beauty Good Night. Night Cream: I have been all over night creams recently. I just finished this one from Origins and was obsessed with the scent. While I haven't tried this new one yet, I am excited to add it to my nightly routine. The cute packaging only makes it better.
