gelato and other things.

Wearing Burberry glasses, Passport shirt.  Eating Pasticiotto and Cioccolato con croccante gelato.
Fresh bread with cheese, salami, grape tomatoes, and oil

Pasta with tuna, mozzarella, and red pepper flakes

A calligraphy display from a cool bookstore I visited.

Beautiful Italian leather bags

Italy just keeps getting better and better.  The food is amazing.  I'm pretty sure it's impossible to have a bad meal here.  Today I went into the town center and bought my second gelato.  There were so many flavors and it was incredibly hard to decide on just two.  Of course, it does give me an incentive to get some more!  I also stopped by this beautiful bookstore that sold journals and leather bags.  Everything was absolutely gorgeous and rich-looking.  I could've stayed there, gelato in hand, for quite some time.

Fresh bread with tuna, EVOO, olives, and red pepper flakes
Guys I'm here!  I'm actually in Italy!  I've been so excited about this trip for months and it has finally happened.  Everything is amazing.  I'm staying in this cute little area that comes alive at night.  Everything is absolutely beautiful and, of course, the food is delicious.  The best part of all though is the fashion.  Italians have such a unique and refined sense of fashion.  They know what looks good and rock it in the streets.  I'm so inspired and I can't wait to start incorporating some of their looks into my own style.

perfect pink.

OPI Cozu-melted in the Sun
Normally I don't like wearing lighter colors on my nails, but this one is an exception.  I bought it a while ago because it perfectly matched my prom dress.  At the time I thought it was just alright.  Now I am in love with it.  It is subtle and extremely flattering at the same time.  It's a great light pink with just the right amount of pizazz.  Extra sparkles optional.

sunday sauce.

In my house, sunday sauce is everyone's favorite meal.  The result is absolutely delicious, but getting there takes all day.  I am not exaggerating.  Make sure you can set aside a whole day if you plan on making this one.  There are a lot of steps involved, but I promise it's worth it in the end.

Ingredients:
Extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), 1lb hot Italian sausage, 1lb meatballs, 1lb country style pork ribs, 1 onion finely chopped, 8 garlic cloves, sauce

Recipe:
-Put EVOO in a stock pot over medium low heat.
-Brown meat on all sides starting with the sausage, then meatballs, then ribs. Remove each after browned.
-Add onions and brown.
-Add garlic and brown.
-Add sauce and wait until slow simmer starts to add ribs.
-After an hour add the sausage.
-After another hour add the meatballs.
-Cook for at least another hour and eat with pasta or on its own.

bella italia.

bella italia.

Italy is on the top of my "need to visit" list. It has everything from beautiful architecture to delicious food to amazing fashion.  All in all it seems like the perfect destination.  For now though, I'm happy that it provides me with tons of inspiration.

nails lately.

Forever 21 Blue Ombre set

OPI Diva of Geneva
I've been all over the place with my nails this summer.  While my top summer polish will always be OPI's Bright Lights, Big Color, I have definitely switched things up a little.  The blue nails were a fun attempt at ombre nails.  Of course, I had to add some glitter in there.  As for the purple nails, they were the result of some digging through my nail polish box in search of color inspiration.  I forgot how much I love that polish.  It will look great in the fall too!

world traveler.

Express hat, The Classic shirt, H&M skirt, Qupid sandals, Assorted bracelets, Gifted ring, American Eagle belt, MAC Ruby Woo lipstick
I love a lot of things in this outfit.  The lipstick is currently my favorite red on the planet.  My floppy hat was a crazy deal at TJ Maxx and looks amazing all the time.  The skirt is a new addition to my wardrobe and is quickly beginning to replace this skirt as my new favorite.  The delicate lace at the bottom is gorgeous and I'm positive it will make its way into quite a few more outfits.  All in all, combining favorites is a good way to go.
