new in: summer bling.

Silver and gold sparkles
If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen my recent tweet about the amazing selection of jewelry at Forever 21. I hadn't been into the store in a while and was so impressed by the new designs! I picked out a bunch of rings, a chic bracelet, some trendy earrings, and a gorgeous necklace. I was in need of some new bling, and these pieces will be perfect for adding some sparkle to my summer outfits!

Which is your favorite? Have you stopped by the store recently? Let me know in the comments!

ipsy - may/jetsetter.

Photo via Instagram
I'm kind of surprised I haven't mentioned my Ipsy subscription on the blog yet. It took about four months for me to start receiving bags, but once I did, I realized Ipsy is a serious game changer. I don't spend nearly as much on makeup anymore now that I can look forward to five specialized samples every month. I chose Ipsy over Birchbox because I was looking for a box that was cheap and geared mainly toward makeup. Ultimately I think I made the right choice and am so happy to be a subscriber.

My May bag was one of the best ones yet. Here's a breakdown of everything I received:

Breakups To Makeup bag - One of the cutest bags I've gotten. I will definitely be throwing this in my purse.

Jesse's Girl Pure Pigment Eye Dust in Brown Sugar - I was not immediately thrilled with this when I pulled it out of the bag. When I tested it out, however, I had to reverse my opinion. The color is a gorgeous smoky brown. It looks beautiful on its own, but can be easily blended with gold or a darker brown for a statement eye.

IT Cosmetics CC+ Makeup - I'll be honest and admit that I haven't gotten around to using this yet. The color looks good and I love CC creams, so I have high hopes for this.

Cailyn Pure Lust Extreme Matte Tint in Narcissist - Again, my first reaction to this was less than pleased. After testing this out, I am officially in love. The color is perfect and fulfills the natural pink gap in my lip product collection. I love matte lip stains and tints for their lasting power, and this one did not disappoint. I wore it all day and only had to touch up once. Not bad at all.

Briogeo Rosarco Milk - This is a perfect example of why I love Ipsy so much. I would never buy something like this for myself, since I generally tend to forget about hair products. This stuff has me seriously rethinking that mindset. I put this in my hair after a shower and was amazed by how soft and healthy my hair felt when it dried. I'm slightly worried that I will go through it too quickly. Although, let's be real, I'm pretty sure this will end up in my permanent collection.

Eylure Naturals Lashes in 020 - This was perhaps the one item I was most excited about when I saw the bag preview. I had a few events to attend at the end of May and could not wait to test these beauties. They were amazing! I have pretty average lashes and these strips were just the thing to bring them to the next level. They add fullness and length without being even the slightest bit ostentatious. I will be reusing these as much as possible before it's time for a repurchase.

love to run.

Fitness in color: my much loved Nike sneakers and exercise bands
When I began college four short years ago, I was far from an athlete. I rarely went to the gym; my half credit swimming class was pretty much the only way I got in any exercise during the week. However, as the campus meal plan began to catch up with me, I knew it was time to make working out a part of my routine.

Somehow, and I don't remember exactly when, I settled upon running. At first it was rough. I had to take breaks during my 20 minute lap around campus. Eventually though, I began pushing myself further and faster. I am now a solid member of the running fan club. It motivates me in a way that going to the gym never will. That's not to discount the gym of course. I definitely used the stationary bike quite a bit this year.

Overall though, running is my fitness passion. It makes me feel strong and keeps me energized. Admittedly, I'm still learning, especially in terms of technique. I'm sure I'm not breathing perfectly or landing in the best way possible yet. But I am running frequently, and that is so much more than my freshman self ever could have said. Who knows, maybe I'll even enter a race at some point!
