layer lover.

American Eagle coat, American Eagle leather jacket (underneath), TJ Maxx shirt, Merona scarf, Aeropostale skirt, Coach boots, Nine West gloves, Jansport backpack, O.C.C. lip tar in Black Dahlia

I don't know about you, but layers are essential for me during the colder weather. Recently I've gotten into the habit of layering a lighter jacket under a heavier one. I particularly love the double collar look of a classic biker jacket underneath a chic peacoat (and have been wearing it a lot). This scarf is a new favorite of mine. I just can't get over how soft it is. Last but not least, I had to rock a statement lip color. This lip tar is absolutely gorgeous and works well with the dark colors in my outfit.

In other news, can you believe January is over? How did that happen?! Oh well, at least we're one month closer to warmer days.

yak sweater love.

TJ Maxx sweater, H&M dress, scarf, and necklace, Forever 21 earmuffs

See guys, I'm trying to post more! I really wanted to use this post to rave about the amazing yak fur sweater I found at TJ Maxx. It is literally the softest thing ever and I am obsessed. I found it in the men's department and knew I had to have it as soon as I locked eyes on it. I love the look of oversize sweaters over dresses and decided to take it one step further on the comfort scale by throwing on a scarf over the whole thing.

This outfit is such a winner for me. Not only is it so cozy, but I also love the different patterns and textures included in it. The earmuffs are one of my favorite winter accessories. The necklace, which was featured in my last post, is a new addition to my wardrobe and seems to go with practically everything. All in all, I'm feeling like I have my winter uniform down.

make a statement.

All necklaces from H&M. Perfumes from left to right: Burberry Weekend, Juicy Couture Peace Love & Juicy Couture, Taylor Swift Wonderstruck
I got these statement necklaces from H&M recently and have been absolutely obsessed with them. They make a simple shirt look a million times better and can work with more detailed outfits as well. I wore the silver one on the right in my Style Guru Bio for CollegeFashionista and love the way it looks with my polka dot shirt (check out the article here). I'm sure you'll be seeing quite a few outfits with these necklaces in posts to come!

winter white.

Winter White

New Year Resolution #1: Be better about posting on the blog. I know I've been pretty horrible about it, but I am going to make a serious effort to post more frequently.

I thought I would start off 2015 with some fresh inspiration. I want to channel the elegance of the snow outside by wearing some crisp white pieces. I love oversize sweaters paired with pencil skirts and am a huge fan of this particular combination. That plus some glittery accents and a swipe of red lipstick and you're good to go.

Here's to a fun and stylish 2015!
