parma please.

Starting off the day with a cream-filled croissant and espresso.

Forever 21 shirt, Abercrombie and Fitch jeans, American Eagle belt, Cotton On flats, TJ Maxx bag, Claire's earrings, Burberry glasses

Love locks on a bridge.

Best sandwich ever: prosciutto di parma on local bread with arugula, onions, and artichoke spread.
This past weekend was pretty stellar.  I took a day trip with a friend to Parma and we had a fantastic time.  We saw some beautiful churches, ate amazing prosciutto,  and walked around a gorgeous city. In the end, something my friend said sums up the day perfectly.  "5 churches, 4 restaurants, 3 panini, 2 girls, 1 amazing day!"   I completely agree.

local color.

The beautiful countryside of Northern Italy.

Dinner!  Prosciutto-filled tortelloni with sundried tomatoes and garlic along with green beans sautéed in oil with black pepper.

Vespas galore.

How completely amazing is this?

Italy just keeps getting better and better.  The countryside views are just as breathtaking as the city streets are bustling.  There is always somewhere new to explore.  Today I wandered around town with a friend and we discovered the most amazing church.  It looks like nothing on the outside; two wooden doors were our only hint that something else was hidden inside.  We walked in and stood for awhile in absolute astonishment.  I will never get over how beautiful the churches here are.  It stuns me every time.

fall fashion wishlist.

Fall Fashion Wishlist

Fall is that amazing time of year right before the holiday season when the leaves change color and the cold weather fashion gets into full swing.  The color options this season are absolutely amazing and perfectly suited to my tastes.  I could wear oxblood and army green every day of the week.  I also love the prints and patterns that are showing up this fall.  The plaids, polka dots, and, above all, leopard prints are just fantastic.  I can't wait to start shopping!

roma III.

The Roman Forum was amazing.

A beautiful elephant sculpture in town.

I was amazed by how people could casually pass buildings like this one.

A picturesque view.

A view of Rome from a Vatican museum window.

My plan for my ceiling at home.

My time in Roma has been amazing.  I've seen the most beautiful buildings and artwork in the world.  I've eaten at some of the best spots as well, from hole-in-the-wall restaurants to well-known gelaterias.  All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better trip and will definitely be returning.

roma part II.

An amazing cityscape.

Cotton On dress, Wet Seal scarf, Nine West Purse, Burberry glasses

The colosseum was unreal!

A gilded helmet in the colosseum museum.
I've been such a tourist here in Rome, but there are so many sights to see and I just can't help myself.  The Colosseum was just as amazing as I imagined.  I love that it still commands such attention and can only imagine how grand it must have looked when it was built.  Of course, I couldn't help but notice the small dash of fashion, even if it was in the form of a helmet.  It was so blinged out that I had to take a picture of it.

ciao roma.

Ok, so this is not actually Rome.  It's from my last day in the south, but it's a beautiful pic of olive trees!

One more south pic:  a castle-like restaurant surrounded by an olive grove.

Dinner at La Carbonara

A beautiful street corner.

This was at an art museum/sculpture yard.

A lovely sidewalk near the Trevi Fountain.

The Trevi Fountain is actually the most gorgeous place I've ever visited.  I felt like Lizzie McGuire when I made my wish!

I found this cute leather shop near the fountain. The owner (above) offered to stamp initials into some luggage tags my friends bought for free!

Rome is officially my new favorite place on the planet.  As a part of my escapade through Italia, I got the chance to stay in the lovely city for a few days and explore all it had to offer.  I hit many of the main tourist spots although I'm sure I missed quite a few!  My top spots include:  the Trevi Fountain, which is really as gorgeous as it looks; Giolitti Gelateria, aka the best gelateria in the history of mankind with whipped cream to die for; and La Carbonara, which you have to visit if you want to try the best pasta carbonara you'll ever eat.  I'm definitely in love.
